When arriving

So you’ve come to Spain to start a new project!

Here we will explain some of the steps to take depending on your situation; we’ll help you with whatever you may need!

Firstly, as you may already have read in our ‘’when buying’’ section, the first you need is a N.I.E number (Número de Identidad de Extranjero or Foreigner Identity Number). This ID is necessary if you wish to operate on the Spanish market – for example when buying a property, if you plan to work here, to study, open a bank account… – or if you are going to be here for more than 90 days. Ask us about the forms and fees, and we’ll help you.

If you plan to live and work here permanently then you will also need a social security number, this applies for both employees and self-employed.

Once the N.I.E has been procured, you need a place to stay of course, either by renting or buying a property. Obviously, we are at your service for any doubts you may have or help you may need. You can read more about the process of buying here.

A bank account is also very important and an essential tool for you to be able to operate, here we can also assist you with recommendations if needed.

When the N.I.E, the dwelling and the bank account has been dealt with, we recommend that you change the supply contracts information of those services that haven been subscribed to, and that you subscribe to new services if you haven’t yet done so. For example with a private health insurance.
